Orly Benjamin (DPhill,Oxford, 1995; ORCID: 0000-0002-0307-9442) is a Professor of Sociology at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. Her book Feminism, Family and Identity in Israel: Women’s Marital Names (with Michal Rom, 2011) introduces her theory on couples’ negotiation. Her book, Gendering Israel’s Outsourcing (2016), introduces a feminist perspective on public procurement of welfare services. She studies couples’ relationships, women in poverty-employment, mothers’ struggle to provide in poverty as well as economic abuse, emotion, vulnerability in extreme climate events and the welfare state. Her work appeared in Sociology, Human Relations, The British Journal of Sociology, Gender Work & Organizations, Social Politics and more.
